Update FiveM Artifacts
FiveM server artifacts contain the FXServer software. Use the current Latest recommended build from Cfx instead of copying an old build number from a guide.
Before you update
Section titled “Before you update”- Identify whether the server runs through a game panel, txAdmin, a Windows launcher, or a Linux service.
- Schedule a short maintenance window and stop FXServer cleanly.
- Back up your server configuration, server data, resources, and any provider-managed data you would need to restore.
- Record the current artifact build and the first startup result after the update.
Game panel
Section titled “Game panel”Panel controls differ between hosts, so use the update or version workflow documented by your provider.
- Stop the server from the panel.
- Create or confirm a usable backup.
- Select the provider’s current recommended or stable FiveM artifact option.
- Run the update and wait for it to complete before starting the server.
- Inspect the new startup console for the artifact build and resource errors.
If the panel has no artifact control, follow the host’s own documentation or contact its support team. Do not upload new binaries over a running server.
txAdmin or Windows VPS
Section titled “txAdmin or Windows VPS”txAdmin is included with FXServer; it does not require a separate download.
- Stop FXServer.
- Download the current recommended Windows artifact through the official Windows setup guide.
- Extract it into a new, empty artifact directory so releases are not mixed.
- Point the existing launcher at that directory, or replace only the old FXServer artifact files.
- Keep the existing server-data and
txDatalocations unchanged. - Start the server using the same configuration and inspect the fresh console output.
Linux VPS
Section titled “Linux VPS”- Stop the FXServer service or process cleanly.
- Download the current recommended Linux artifact through the official Linux setup guide.
- Extract it into a new, empty artifact directory.
- Keep the existing server-data directory and configuration unchanged.
- Restore the ownership and execute permissions expected by your service account.
- Start FXServer through the same service or supervisor and inspect its new log boundary.
Verify the update
Section titled “Verify the update”- Confirm the console shows the expected current artifact build.
- Confirm no end-of-support or end-of-life warning remains.
- Confirm the server discovers and starts the expected resources.
- Resolve the first new startup error before testing dependent products.
- Keep the previous artifact directory until the updated server passes your maintenance check.
Cfx can change supported artifact versions. Use the current Cfx artifact lifecycle guidance and server setup index as the source of truth.
